Originally David worked as a construction worker until he realized that this was not the life he wanted. So he took up his guitar and started as a street musician, together with some friends. In 1995 he joined Gabor Voros' band Dearest Companion, together with Tom Theuns, Wouter Vandenabeele, Buni Lenski, Mathias Laga, Boris Dehandschutter and Anja Kowalski. Many of these would help recording the first Think of One album, Juggernaut.
Also in 1995, he played the music for the play Mijnheer Alleen by theatre group Hollandia, with actor Benjamin Verdonck and singer Anja Kowalski. The music was mainly written by Eric Thielemans, but David also wrote some music. One of the pieces from this period is La Reine d'une nuit.
In may 1996, David's own band Think of One started and recorded a demo. Next to the people of Dearest Companion there were Tomas Desmet (from Moondog Jr.), Eric Morel and Roel Poriau (from Flowers for Breakfast) and the members of Die Anarchistische Abendunterhaltung, Australian street singer Stephen Duncan, Morrocan musician Marakchi and many others.
Apart from Think of One, David also has had some modest side projects: he appeared at De Nachten 1998 with Anja Kowalski in a fantastic show where David plays all kinds of guitar effects and a spectacular human beat-box number while Anja sings sad songs of the forties and fifties. This project has done some very rare gigs since then, but might still do 'something' in the future. On the second gig at the Klinkende Munt festival, they were joined by Tom Pintens.
Another band with David Bovée, formed during the second night of the Klinkende Munt festival, was Punkistan, the punk version of Think of One.
In november 2003, Davids girlfriend Barbara (of Maskesmachien fame) gave birth to a son. Hooray! :-)
