The Soluble Fish is an opera with a text by Josse De Pauw, based on text fragments of Witold Gombrowicz. The music was written and performed by Peter Vermeersch. It was played in 1994 by theatre company Walpurgis, who also released the cd.

The music was performed by the ensemble Walpurgis, which contains George-Alexander van Dam (viool), Jan Kuijken (cello), Dirk Descheemaeker (klarinet), Peter Vermeersch (klarinet), Daan Vandewalle (piano), Pierre Vervloesem (gitaar).
