The year 1996 was the year of Paul Van Ostayen, the Flemish avant-garde poet who was born in 1896. Several important projects supported this event, among them the very first edition of De Nachten. Another one was the theatre concert Music Hall, based on poems from Van Ostayens book with the same title. The music for the theatre play/opera/oratorio/whatever was composed by Peter Vermeersch for the ensemble Prima La Musica. The theatre concert was very succesful, and was performed over 60 times in 1996. It was reworked in 2002 by Tom Van Bauwel, and was performed three more times to celebrate the tenth birthday of the orchestra Prima La Musica.
