Margulies, Jagger Twirl in Elysian Fields

Friday October 27 3:11 AM ET

By Michael Fleming

NEW YORK (Variety) - Julianna Margulies will join Andy Garcia, Jason Robards and Mick Jagger in "The Man From Elysian Fields,'' a drama set to begin shooting soon.

Garcia plays a novelist whose failure to pay his bills strains relations with his wife (Margulies) and leads him to work at an escort service (run by Jagger). He then becomes entwined with a wealthy woman whose husband is a successful writer (Robards).

George Hickenlooper (''Big Brass Ring'') directs the indie film from a script by Phil Lasker.

Once Margulies completes work on the film, the former "ER'' star will move into the starring role of Jon Robin Baitz's new play "The Ten Unknowns,'' which bows at Lincoln Center in March.

Jagger was most recently in theaters with the 1997 drama ''Bent,'' in which he played Greta/George, a singing transvestite. Since the Rolling Stones wrapped their latest tour a year ago, he has been busy producing the World War II thriller ``Enigma.''
