Stampe Fly-In 2008
At Saturday 3 May, I visited the Stampe & Vertongen Fly-in at Antwerp International Airport. This edition stands in token of 2 important events in the history of Belgian aviation. The first important event took place 100 years ago, in St-Job-in 'Goor. There, Baron Pierre de Caters took off with his Voisin and became so the first Belgian aviator. The second important event took place 75 years ago (1933). In that year, Jean Stampe built the prototype of the Stampe & Vertongen SV4 in Deurne.
The highlights of the day:

A Spitfire Mk.18 (G-BUOS) together with a P51D Mustang (N167F) in formation.

Of course, the home-built SV4 can't be absent. There were 12 SV4's present and capable of flying. Click here for more info about the SV4.

This is not an UFO, this is a deltawing that really can fly... This aircraft is created by Verhees Engineering.

Two T.6 Harvards in formation (red one= N4109C, green one= B-182).

And last but not least, this little airplane (a Pottier P80S) must be the Mini Cooper in aviation (altough there are smaller airplanes)!

You can find more images of the Stampe fly-in 2008 in my photo album.
Conclusion:
Many other beautiful airplanes were on the fly-in. This fact in combination with the good weather made this visit succeeded. I would like to congratulate the Stampe museum and all the other people that made this fly-in possible!
Aviation enthousiast or not, you must ever come to the fly-in or the Stampe museum on Antwerp Airport to discover how flying was in the past!
