About me
My name is Wouter Plaetinck and I'm 15 years old. I live not far from Wetteren, Belgium.
For the moment I'm learning the basics of gliding at gliding club VZP (Vlaams Zweefvliegventrum Phoenix, Flemish Gliding Centre Phoenix) in Overboelare. Gliding is a great hobby and when you reach a certain level of experience, a competetive sport too! For example, pilots can compete against eachother in the Charron Cup and other games organised by gliding clubs. Amazing what you can do using the power of the sun! (Read this article if you are curious..)
I'm now almost 2 years busy with aviation photography and I really enjoy it. I'm interested in both military and civil aviation, so I visit airshows in Belgium and surrounding countries and I go sometimes spotting at Brussels Airport. That's why this site combinates Plane Spotting and Airshows.
With this site I hope to show people that you don't need the biggest lens or the most expensive camera on the planet to make great photos. I use a Nikon D40X together with a Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G AF-S VR and a Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G AF-S (click in image for bigger version).
