Saint-Bavo's Cathedral - Ghent

Welcome | Visit | Religious Services | Diocese of Ghent + Chapter | Building | Art | Mystic Lamb | Organ | Bells | Activities | Links + Adresses

The cathedral holds an immense collection of religious art and artefacts . The oldest of our pieces date back to the 8th century, the youngest from the late 1990’s.

Pride of place goes to the most important example of western European medieval painting;  “the Adoration of the Mystic lamb” by the brothers Van Eyck. Our church has been a loving home for this master piece since 1432

Unfortunately it is impossible to show all interesting pieces
