Family in Belgium

Mpo just pointed me to a local version of the earlier post. Seems like we are clearly spreading from the "Kempen" region to the rest of Belgium.
.
To think of the fact that this German town is where we came from - quite interesting...

Estafette

Van Steven een muziekestafette doorgekregen:

"This is Not a Love Song", in de recente mambo versie van Nouvelle Vague

  4. 5 nummers die ik vaak beluister of veel voor me betekenen: The Heart of Saturday Night (Tom Waits), Born to run en Thunder Road (beide van Bruce Springsteen), Unlikely Lovers (Elvis Costello & Burt Bacharach), Building a Mystery (Sarah McLachlan).

  5. En ik geef de stok door aan: uiteraard, mpo.

First school

Just read Steven's account of bringing his darling daughter to school this week. Very funny - especially the comments by his daughter herself ;-) ... Next monday, I have to go on a different assignment of my own: registering Mit at the local school, at 50 meters from our future house. She will only start going there in january 2006, but nevertheless we have to register NOW. And with the new system which stipulates first-come-first-serve registration procedures, it looks like I will be up very early on monday morning to get in line there. Seems silly when you think of it. But it would be even sillier to miss out on the opportunity to register Mit in that school. Everyone we've spoken to really likes it, and think of the convenience of having a school only 50 meters from your door ... So wish us luck!!!

Washing Linux

Got this under the caption "Linux for Women", but maybe that's too sexist ;-) ... Anyway - quite funny ...

Knee :(

Been diagnosed. The ache in my knee that has been bothering me for a couple of months now, is also known as RPCP. Huh? What is RetroPatellar Chondromalacia Patellae??? Also known as Chondropathy. Defined as

chondromalacia patelĒlae:pain and crepitus over the anterior aspect of the knee, particularly in flexion, with softening of the cartilage on the articular surface of the patella and, in later stages, effusion.
That's what sports does for you: probably got if here. What you get when you are not used to it anymore, when you get old and worn down, ... etc... Will take me a while to get back on top, and in the mean while - I just need to see that I don't put on extra weight...
