DE EGLANTIER (formerly known as DE BOEKENWURM) sells books on various subjects in Dutch, German, French and even in Esperanto. On the top floor of DE EGLANTIER, you will find a separate section, CRAZY CASTLE, full of books in English. It is baptised "Crazy Castle" in honour of the King of Hay, Richard Booth.
"Crazy Castle" was the name that John Hall-Stevenson, a friend of Laurence Sterne, gave to Skelton Castle (Yorkshire), which was famous for its library. CRAZY CASTLE offers i.a. a large selection of English and American litterature and history.

Where Rimbaud and Verlaine used to wander in the Belgian Ardennes, the ancient village of Redu became a "Village du Livre" in 1984. It is situated in a very peaceful region, la Haute-Lesse, and adorned by many picturesque little towns and villages, like Saint-Hubert, Han-sur-Lesse, Rochefort, Bouillon and La-Roche-en-Ardenne. Redu is at a daytrip distance from the South-East of Germany (Trier) and the North of France (Verdun). Brussels, Liège and the city of Luxemburg are relatively close (about 100 km). Redu has 23 bookshops, several artshops and a bakery where you can buy the special "pain de Redu".

After visiting (some of) the book and/or art shops and the spectacular Euro Space Center, you can enjoy the famous Belgian gastronomy.

Soyez les bienvenus!
