In Nepal, children get involved in household tasks at a very early age. Some are even hired as servant as young as 8 years old. The helping hands are the main character is this painting, they are the bright and shining element. The child is hidden in the background, nearly forgotten in a rather serene green landscape. This painting has a very expressionist power despite the time and cultural gap between the expressionist movement and Ragini.
