Van begin mei tot november 2008 heb ik gewerkt voor Veranda's Demasure. Ik werkte er als Opmeter-Tekenaar.

Nadat een verkoper een veranda had besproken met een klant, moest ik naar de klant thuis de locatie gaan opmeten waar de veranda of pergola zou komen. Daarna werden deze gegevens omgezet in Solidworks. Zo werd het dak in detail uitgetekend. Op basis van deze tekening werden stuklijsten gegenereerd voor alle dak-onderdelen. Voor de verticale kaders werden de maten ingevoerd in Excel. Ook hiervan werden stuklijsten gegenereerd. Na het verder afwerken van het dossier kon dit naar de productie.

Hieronder ziet u foto's van de laatste veranda waar ik aan werkte. Hierin heb ik redelijk veel tijd en moeite gestoken. Want niet veel stukken waren standaard. Deze regel geld vaak voor veranda's, maar dit systeem van binnengoot was eerder een experiment .. met succes.

Ahrend "sit idea for the school of the future"

Design school furniture for the new teaching methods in schools:

The idea is to combine a knee-chair, which has a better ergonomic position to sit, with a regular office-chair. I know from experiance that a knee-chair is good for the back but after a few hours of sitting might start to hurt on the knees. Hence the idea to allow for both sit-positions.
This chair is not only for the teachers but for the entire class. People can chose how to sit on them and change if they feel like doing so.

Work for Sensotec

After my internship at Sensotec, they contacted me to do some more work for them.

First I designed a bag to allow the use of the Euroscope in a portable way.










Next I designed a new housing for the new version of the Reporter. This is a combo of a scanner and a computer which allows visualy impaired people to scan text-pages or books and then listen to them.




Another job was to add decals to the exising Reporter.



Finaly I also did some 3D-CAD re-design work in preparation of a new batch of Euroscopes.

Internship - Sensotec NV - Design of the "Euroscope NG"

As an internship, I am in the proces of designing a new generation "Euroscope" for Sensotec.
Sensotec is a company near Brugge which makes tools for the visually impaired. The Euroscope is a series of note-takers. The laptop for the visually impaired if you will.
This series contains 3 machines. All 3 have audio feedback (it reads books etc.) and 1 model has only a braille keyboard. The next has a 20 character braille-display added. The last one has a 40 character display.
The Euroscope New Generation (or Euroscope NG) which I have almost finished now, has the braille keyboard replaced with an Azerty note-book keyboard.

Injection Mold

It is the orange part I made the mold for.
(Bij dit stuk zijn er ondersnijdingen langs de binnenkant, wat een uitdaging vormde bij het ontwerpen van de bewegende delen in de matrijs.)

RGanic

Design project ( www.saris.net / Convert a trailer to give it a new use )

The design concist of a modification to allow 4 BIOCom containers. These are special modified containers for compost. Thus this trailer should be interesting for gardeners or parks.

Small Business Project "Triva"

SBP (Design for "Hema Design Contest 2007"):

For this we had to design a product which to prepare for production and sale. The result is an educational package for children from 4 to 8 years. It incorporates all necessary things for the child to grow a flower. Thus: a flowerpot, some earth and 3 flower bulbs. To assist the child we have added a "manual" made in the shape of a well written & illustrated storybook.
We also made a real life size puppet of the main character of the book as a stand (it holds a wheelbarrow with our products in it).

Speciale kwalificaties:
De opleiding IPO aan de PIH te Kortrijk is heel erg praktijk gericht.
Daardoor heb ik ervaring in het ontwerpen van durables die
klantgericht zijn, maar ook rekening houden met de mogelijkheden
van het bedrijf. Wij leerden zowel het ontwerp te maken als voor
illustraties zorgen, handleidingen uittekenen, technische
tekeningen maken, prototypes knutselen en verkoops-/ontwerppresentaties doen. Ik ben heel graag met 'Autodesk
Inventor' bezig en gebruik 'Autodesk 3D Studio Max' om van die
Inventor-files dan illustraties te renderen. Maar het is ook zeer
mooi mee genomen mocht ik de kans krijgen om daadwerkelijk
prototypes te knutselen. Want ik werk ook graag nu en dan eens
met m'n handen.
Verder mag ik stellen dat ik een uitgebreide kennis heb van Word
en Excel.

Overige interesses:
Ik ben erg geboeid in techniek. Vooral vliegtuigen zijn mijn grote
passie. Design boeit me ook wel op grote voorwaarde dat het
praktisch en functioneel is.
