Ham and Jam...
The South Flanders DX
Activity Group activated in June 2004 a special event station
to commemorate the 60 anniversary of the landing in Ranville
Normandy! This World War 2 event started the liberation of
Europe (D-Day second World War 1940-45). ur group of
radioamateurs celebrates and honors the heroes from the
Normandy invasion beaches and the Bulge battlefields of the
Ardennes in Belgium and Luxembourg. Our exclusive Anniversary
DXpedition Event in 2004 starts with four unforgettable HAM
& JAM days taking in the different 60th Anniversary
Events on the airwaves throughout the D-Day beaches at
Normandy reaching the entire world. Our special call was F/ON6JUN/P
("France On the 6th of June at Pegasus"). F/ON6JUN/P
2004 - Commemorating D-Day This special event station has
successfully ended their mission that lasted from the 4th (evening)
until the 6th of June 2004. This year we're commemorating the
60th anniversary of the liberation of Europe. Because of the
visit of Prince Charles of Wales on the 5th of June on the
premises, our QTH will not be the garden of Memorial Pegasus
Museum. The very strict security measures related to this
visit forced us to look for a new location to set-up our
station. The lord-mayor of Ranville was so kind to give us
permission to use the sport complex of Ranville, so we have
enough space to set up the stations. This QTH is only about 1
km away from Pegasus Bridge, so the location is still very
strategic. Radio Amateur, Radio Amateur, Radio Amateur

Radioamateur: De meeste
telexberichten, weerkaarten of slow-scan TV-beelden.
"HAM" is
Meer info at:

Ham radio lets people talk
across the globe, wirelessly and inexpensively. It's a
subculture in its own right. With a few simple means like an
antenna, a transmitter (transceiver) we talk to people all
over the world. We experiment with radio and investigate how
radiowaves react under several conditions and equipment.
