What about WINMOR
....?
Wimor is a new HF
radio transmission protocol for the winlink 2000 system. Unlike Pactor
only the computer
soundcard-to-radio interface is required, and runs as a "virtual TNC " with
RMS software. It provides speeds
upto +/- pactor-2.
NOTE ON0FS is NOT accepting Winmor
today....!
Is it
replacing Pactor ?
For
those who are dependent on Winlink for their safety and well-being, Pactor
3 is the very best. Thousands of maritime vessels are using Pactor 3 for
Winlink as well as for Sailmail and other commercial services. WINMOR is
NOT meant to be competitive with Pactor 3. How can it be? The difference
between a soundcard and a Motorola Microprocessor is great. For the
average Ham at home, who already has the Internet and does not depend on
radio e-mail, WINMOR is the answer, but for those heavily dependent on
Winlink for their only communications, Pactor 3 will thrive.
