Description of all Sections in the Ultimate Manga Site

[1] General Info Page / History Page GO! STATISTICS:There are more than 1219 coverimages available on the site.
This is the next generation of the former Usenet Manga Guide. I have the honor to continue the work by Iain Sinclair and have his permission to use his Usenet Manga Guide as the foundation for the Ultimate Manga Guide. I have enhanced the Guide with some new features to make it even better and have created a sibling, called the DetailGuide, to the Ultimate Manga Guide that contains even more detailed info on manga series. Be warned that this DetailGuide contains a lot of spoilers.

Given the size of the Ultimate Manga Guide, it is unlikely the textversion will be posted on rec.arts.manga but that's not a problem since almost everyone has a browser.

This site will normally be updated once per month, and the guide will contain the tankoubon appearing in that month. The textversion of the guide is always the reference and will be updated more frequently if necessary. You can download the TextGuide on this page, or as a splitted version here. The WebGuide and DetailGuide consist of about five thousand files, they have been enriched with coverimages and are heavily linked together.

Downloading the TextGuide and searching through it with a texteditor is still the most convenient way in finding info on a certain author, series or month. Example: suppose I want to know what has appeared on the market in September 1998. Search with a textviewer for the occurrences of "9809" and you got them.

Before we come at the part of this page that will guide you to the different sections of this site, I want to highly recommend to you that if you are a new visitor, or if you want to know what features are available on this site, you should visit my How To Use page: How to use the Guides

[7] Contributors List GO!
The list of everyone who contributed in some way to this Guide. I am afraid this list is not as complete as it should be, and the decision has been made to keep the list as concise as possible, because it is impossible to credit every single contribution to the Guide, or even to credit every single source of information. Nevertheless, I'll try to make it more complete in the future. I have provided a link for every known contribution in the Guide to this file.

[8] Textversion download GO! STATISTICS:The TextGuide is now more than 65,000 lines long, counts more than 200,000 words and is more than 1.8 MB big. In comparison: v6.05 had around 100 authors, 4,700 lines, 30,000 words and was 220kB big.
This is the plain text-version of the Guide. It is from this text that the HTML-version is generated. It is available in the ZIP-format.

For people with problems reading the large (>1 MB) textfile, I have splitted the Guide up in to a number of smaller parts. You can download it here.
