Opening a new coffeshop is always a gamble. You never know if customers
are going to show up. The customers show up all right: Ataru and his pals
are ditching school again and come to have someting to drink. The
teachers aren't very happy with this course of action and want to take
measures to keep them in school.

The only person who would bring a combat-robot to school to carry her
things for her would have to be Lum. The robot doesn't really like being
used for this kind of thing tough. Meanwhile, Onsen-Mark starts an
inspection of everyone's desk and locker. It's incredible what some
people keep in there.

Teaching can be a very tiring thing, espescially in Ataru's class. First
there's Ten flying around. Then there's Cherry cooking a meal. Sakura
removes the nuisance but soon after Benten barges in and throws poor
Onsen out of the class. What other happenings could be in store for him?

It's valentine day and again the only one who is getting a load of
chocolate is Mendou. Only Ataru isn't grumbling: he's sure he'll get some
too. He'll have to give up on Shinobu and Ran though: Shinobu gives hers
to Ten and Ran is in her UFO giving hers to Rei. Much to his surprise,
even Lum doesn't have any. Now things look really bad for him.

xtra English classis are laid in for Ataru's class. Nobody is happy with
it of course, since they have to give up their day off for it. Well, there
is one way to boycott the teacher: everyone (and that includes Mendou)
refuses to utter even a single word. Which is still easier said then done.

Ox-driven carriages are rather rare in these days, so they draw attention
to them. A handkerchief falls out of it and is immediately picked up by
Ataru, who is already thinking about the babe in there...not! A mummy
would be more like it. Later, in class, a most beautiful girl comes in and
Ataru quickly forgets about the unpleasant experience had earlier. But not
for long.

Ataru is more than happy to come over to the Mendou-mansion to see Ryoko.
The same can't be said of Shutaro, who has taken every possible precaution
to prevent him from getting in. His efforts were in vain as Ataru manages
to get in anyway. From one thing comes another, and we get to see an
unusual twist in the old Romeo and Juliet theme.

Two of Ryoko's servants come ot bring Ataru a message: she wants to meet
him the next day. This is much to the disliking of Lum, who literally
keeps him on a leash to prevent him from getting away. As was to be
expected, Ataru escapes and Lum doesn't see him again till class, where
his behaviour as abnormal to say the least.

Japan in the distant past. We're closing in on a man called Musashi. He
thinks his village is cramped and decides to set out on a journey to make
a name for himself. On his way back to the village he is run over by the
villagers. They're following Ataru, who has just stolen a whole cow from
them. All beginning is difficult but is no way to treat a future star.

It's rare but Onsen has some time left in Ataru's class. The time has to
be filled in somehow , so why not with a ghost story? According to Onsen
their school is haunted by quite a number of ghosts. Not enough for the
students though, who are quite dissappointed. He makes something up as
fast as he can.

It's like Ataru and Ten will never stop fighting. Even during dinner
they won't stop. The batle is decided quickly and Ataru throws Ten out
of the house. In response to his mother complaint about their fighting
Ataru responds that he can't help it either: it's Ten who always provokes
him. The next day, Ten is still mad and wants revenge bad!

The usual foursome are on a trip. They've gone to a really remote place:
there's nobody to be seen for miles. Er, except for Cherry that is, who
comes there to meditate. The place is rich in fossiles too: Lum and ten
find one after the other. Too bad all these animals are extinct. It would
be great fun if they could still run around...

Ataru is waiting to have his bad tooth treated. The screams he can hear
coming from the dentists' office make him decide to leave but it's too
late already. The nurse (a robot!?) grabs him and throws him into the
dentists' chair. The dentist from hell turns out to Lum. Luckily for
Ataru, it was all just a dream, but Cherry is seeing bad omens again.

Ataru is looking for a job for, well, the usual reasons. Preferably one in
his neighbourhood. Leafing through the magazine, Lum finds the perfect job
for him: washing backs in a public bathhouse. The place is a bit hard to
find and the owner doesn't look to normal, not to mention the customers.

On their way back from a cycling trip Atara and Lum see a bird trapped
in a raccoon-trap. They set it free, asking to return the favor. It could
happen sooner than they think: the crane, who is actually a raccoon,
follows them home. Now, how could he repay Ataru for releasing him from
the trap?

Don't ask why, but a bunch of Karasutengu is carrying the cryo-chamber
that contains Kurama around in the forest. One of them gets hit by a
tennisball and consequently they lose their grip and the tube slides down
the hill... right on the tenniscourt where Mendou is playing tennis. Sadly
enough for Kurama, Ataru is there too.

Kurama thinks it's Mendou wha has woken her this time, so she's very
pleased this time. now she won't have to mate with Ataru. The
Karasutengu, knowing the truth, are facing a difficult sitation, but
eventually decide to tell her who really woke her. Meanwhile, Kurama
is preparing to "spend the night" with Mendou.

Kurama still hasn't completely recovered after finding out that once
again it was Ataru who woke her. She absolutely refuses to mate with him.
The oldest karasutengu tells her that it is the law of their people and
that it has to be obeyed or else... Yeah, or else what? Nobody seems to
know.

Playing Zorro on the rooftop isn't much fun when your 'horse' doesn't
cooperate. Ten gets mad because of it... and gets smacked by Ataru who
thinks he's making too much noise. For some reason, Ryoko's servants
are there too. They come to invite them to a masked ball in the mansion.
The winner will get a kiss from Ryoko.

Yet another summer is spent at the beach. Ten finds a bottle containing a
letter. A love-letter to be more exact. The same evening Ataru finds a
similar bottle in the bath an Mendou gets one from a vending machine. Who
could be writing these letters? And why shouldn't they go to the 'giant
clam bay'?

So far everything is okay about the hotel they're staying. That is, if
you don't count in the funny looks the owners throw at them. Shinobu has
a bad feeling about the hotel, but she's the only one who thinks so. In
the meantime, Ataru is having a great time with the girl that wrote the
love-letters.
