Yakumo Fujii, on the way to his work witnesses how a seemingly innocent
girl gets robbed. He intervenes and can retrieve the girl's bag, but the
thief manages to get away with the girl's staff. He takes her to the place
he works (he works as a cross-dresser in a bar). The girl, called Pai, is
no Japanese girl. Suddenly, when she hears Yakumo's name, she begins to
cry and runs into his arms shouting that she has finally found him after
four years. She gives Yakumo the skull of his father and a letter from his
father. In the letter his father tells of a mysterious race of tryclops of
which Pai is the last survivor. He promised to make her human, but could
not fulfill this promise. That's why in his last letter he asks Yakumo to
help Pai become human. Yakumo doesn't believe a thing of it, and isn't
going to obey the wish of a father he hasn't seen in years. Meanwhile, the
thief who stole Pai's staff opens the staff whereupon a monstrous bird
leaps out of it. Soon the television is covering the appearance of the
bird above town. Pai says to Yakumo that it is her friend Takuhi and that
they must capture it. Yakumo and Pai pursue the bird on Yakumo's scooter.
The bird, who doesn't recognize his mistress, attacks the two. Just before
Takuhi wants to strike at Pai, Yakumo intervenes and is pierced by the
gigantic claws. Pai looks in horror and shouts: "Yakumo, you must not
die". Upon that moment, a third eye in Pai's forehead opens and Yakumo's
soul gets sucked up into the eye. The bird now recognizes his mistress and
disappears into the staff. The eye closes and Pai falls down on the
bloody corpse of Yakumo. We suddenly see his wounds heal, a sign appearing
on his forehead and the following morning, Yakumo awakens as if nothing
has happened. He doesn't understand what has happened, but decides to help
Pai become human.
