Fujiko F. Fujio 藤子・Ｆ・不二雄

This is the pen name Fujimoto used after his break-up with Motoo Abiko. Before, they were both known as Fujiko Fujio. They decided to divide the name too. He has been chronically ill from the beginning of the nineties until his dead in 1996. Doraemon is undoubtedly his best known work. It sold around hundred million copies in twenty years.

One of the best known manga in Japan, created in 1964, targeted at young children but also popular with adults. The story is about a magical blue robotic cat, living together with Nobita Nobi, a schoolboy. Out of its pouch come magical items. This work is almost considered as a national inheritance in Japan. A lot of theatrical films, TV series and videos have been created throughout the years. The second television series is STILL running with more than 850 episodes.
