Miki's parents have met another couple and decide to switch partners. Miki is of course shocked. The other couple has a son, Yuu. Not wanting to separate the children from their parents, the decision is made to live all together in a big house. This disturbs Miki even more. Then she starts falling for Yuu. Things start to get complicated from here and Marmalade Boy becomes a series what could be described as the ultimate romantic soap opera.

Marmalade Boy is a very touching series and will grasp you in the last couple of volumes. For fans of Maison Ikkoku or romantic comedy in general this series is a must. Even though Marmalade Boy is shoujo, it appeals also to the general public. Recommended.

High school love-story which doesn't have quite as much angst or as many people trying to steal other people's partners (as compared to Marmalade Boy). {016}
