No big plot, no people killing each other, no adventure, no
thrill&suspense, no morals given, strictly comedy. What more can you ask?
Takes place in an ordinary school, one day there's a new student (Hayakawa
Aoi) in class, who is found out to be a half-alien half-human girl. No,
Aoi-chan doesn't have green skin nor tentacles, she doesn't have
telekinesis, she is just an ordinary kawaii girl.
I once read an article in a magazine where some animator was saying he
wanted to do an anime of Aoi-chan, but it never came to being. What a
pity... Loved to see Aoi-chan done by...hmm, who? dunno...
Art...I can't think of any style similar to Takemoto's. It's definitely
unique. It's cute. I love his story and his art, but I'm his fan since
I first read his "Yume miru JulyCat" waaaaaay back in 1981, so... I would
only recommend his manga if you don't mind weird stories like
refrigerators becoming gateway to Hell, houses getting amnesic, a genie
in the lamp traveling in a spaceship, and so on. {018}
