This prequel takes place when Rei and Tatsuya first meet right after they enter high school. At first, Tatsuya who has a crush on Kira, dislikes Rei, who stands out in class and often picks fights with him. With time, however, Tatsuya becomes friends with Rei. The climax is a motorcycle chase. A reckless gang of bikers surrounds Rei and Tatsuya. Instead of a fistfight, Rei and the bikers decide to compete in a race. Although Rei has a 250cc bike and the gang ride on 750cc bikes, Rei speeds through the night, ignoring red lights and even cutting up a big truck.
