A shounen series that also has a hard-core female following. The story starts out as an oddball slapstick comedy about Shintaro who with a stolen family stone is shipwrecked on a tropical island inhabited by a little boy called Papuwa and his very weird animal friends. There, Papuwa confiscates the stone thus forcing Shintaro to work and learn to become less selfish and be more considerate of others. Then the series begins to get increasingly complicated and serious as the members of the Ganma family of the Blue Clan, Shintaro's father and uncles, arrive at the island with their men and a closet full of secret family skeletons to recover the Blue stone from Papuwa who turns out to be a member of the rival Red Clan. Very original art and story by Shibata that have spawned a yaoi doujinshi fandom, an animation series and a game. {KAM}
