Tenjou Utena has to fight with school comrades over Ancy, the rose bride. Very strange series, although the anime is even stranger. Beepapas is a pen-name for the director of the anime. {DHI}

Author is Ikuhara Kunihiko, leader of the BePaPas team - which includes Saitou Chiho. The story is stunning and powerful, and extremely complex: it defies easy summary. The art is absolutely beautiful. Anime and manga are both highly recommended for shoujo fans.

A summary attempt: Tenjou Utena is a cool, popular young girl (14-year-old) who studies at Ohtori Gakuen. She gets into a fight with another student, defeats him in a duel, and finds, much to her surprise, that she has won a bride: her classmate Himemiya Anthy, the girl known as the Bride of the Rose. The story follows their relationship - as Utena becomes caught in a web of mysterious magical events and has to fight one duel after another to protect Anthy from her many "suitors". {PAU}
