Kurumada Masami 車田正美

Debut in 1974 with Otokoraku, the story of a young boxer. Kurumada has a tendency to reuse character designs. Until 1994, he worked exclusively for Shuueisha, but after that he worked for Enix and for Kadokawa Shoten before returning to Shuueisha again.

The story is based on ancient Greek mythology. Athena, the daughter of Zeus comes down to earth every 300 years. She formed a knighthood order to keep the world safe from any harm. These are the Saints of Athena. All Saints wear a cloth based on a constellation in the skies, this cloth gives them superhuman powers, each of them with different powers.

Tells the story of five teenagers who had inherited five magical swords to fight the forces of evil. The series had only a limited success. Was the inspiration for Saint Seiya in this respect that the main characters reappear with different names and harnesses instead of swords. Fuma means "Demon Wind".

This series pays tribute to "Ashita no Joe". As you can guess, the ring is here the boxing ring. This series was one of the biggest successes of Shounen Jump, and one of the hallmarks establishing the typical Shounen Jump style.

The story of a young boxer achieving the top through effort and courage. Kurumada uses here for the first time his favorite story elements by uniting the boxers in competing groups and basing characters on Greek mythology.
