By Delana Schedule Winter 2011:
Open Door Scheduled for early Spring 2012: About my Open Door Events: What can you expect at my Open Door? First of all there is no obligation to purchase anything and you do not have to pay to enter. Basically you get to have a look around the studio at your leisure. I offer simple drinks and snacks and of course there is an expo of my finished work most of which is available for purchase. What happens during the demonstrations? If you are visiting during my scheduled demonstrations then you will see me at work. I usually make a bead during my demos as this is what most people want to see. It's exciting because you get to see the glass go from solid to liquid and back to solid again. If I have time I can do extra demonstrations and if time permits I'll also give a short explanation of the various work stations in the studio and quickly introduce you to the various techniques I work with. Are children allowed in the studio? On the whole I find that children are more interested than most adults when they see me work and they ask the most intriguing questions. I have no problem with children coming into the studio as long as their parents understand that there are sharp objects there and that children must be supervised at all times. While visiting my studio parents are responsible for the safety of their children. Children under the age of 6 are generally not interested in what I am doing so if your children are very young it's best to leave them in capable hands at home. During the demonstration I do work with an open flame. Please feel free to contact me should you have further questions concerning any event on my schedule. _________________________________________________________________________________ It is possible for you to see my works in my home studio by appointment or you can arrange for me to bring a selection of items to a coffee morning or wine evening at your home. Please note that my schedule fills up quickly from September to January. _________________________________________________________________________________ _________________________________________________________________________________ |
