1. THE DESCENDENTS of John Livingstones and christian mackenzie of Dundee

John Livingstone(bap St Vigeans 03/08/1737? OR 14 Jan 1739 Glamis?)††††

(his grand son was named after him)††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††

m. ††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††

?††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††

John Livingston, weaver (and on one son's death certificate a Linen Manufacturer)†† †††††††††††††††††

b about 1770??†††††††††††††††

m. 15 Feb 1793 CHristian MacKenzie (one son's death certificate says Catherine) †††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††

For one child they had the name LEVITCH (William 1805) and one LEVAGE.††††††† †††††††††††††††††††††††††††††

Children:

27 Dec 1793 LIVINGSTONJOHNJOHN LIVINGSTON/CHRISN. MACKENZIE†††††††† †††††††††††††††††††††††††††††

weaver (and at death called a factory manager) named after his grand father†††††††††††††††††††††††

m. 21 Jan 1819 Lilias Blair of Dundee d/o of David Blair, sailor. ††††† 40 in 1841†††††††

This John was certainly the son of another John (according to death certificate) and not David. He was still a weaver in 1834. Birth certificate states that John sr was a weaver in 1793 and John jr was named after his grandfather, so there were in fact 3 generations of Johns.

Alexander Livingston b abt. 1805

The same age as Alexander Paterson Livingstone, son of David and Elizabeth Moncur.

This Alexander finally became a Church Officer in the Free Church.

His fatherís name seems to have been Duncan and his mother Margaret. But to add yet more confusion the Arbroath surfaceman Duncan Livingston, with his wife Margaret, appear to be too young to be his parents.
