Like most of the people living in this region, the Suri, are semi-nomadic farmers.
Very isolated, they are not used to see white people...
While the Suri women always cover their genitals, the Suri men are mostly nude (in the beginning, as I was not showing my sex, I puzzled them: they were not sure if I was a man or a woman, even with a beard!)
In the recent years - consequence of the war in neighbouring Sudan - they have acquired many rifles
... and you are also supposed to have one if you want to be respected!
