Welcome
Hi, my
name is Hugo Philips and you're welcome to my site. I've created these pages
to share information with other people having the same
interests as me. As you will see I am very interested in Hostas.
About
me
I am 51 years old
and
I live in Brasschaat, Belgium. Microsoft Certified (MCP, MCSE), I
specialize in .NET, Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows NT4, TCP/IP
and Security. I program in VB.NET, VB, C and C++. Current
topics: PHP and MySQL.
Hostas
My main interest is about
hostas. Hostas are a group of shade loving plants
that are native in China, Korea and Japan. I collect and try
to grow the
interesting ones (the bizarre), the species (the originals) and I
try to hybridize (the new).
I am always interested in exchanging
hostas. You can find my more or less current
collection list here
(Jul. 2004). 
I've also created a page with
most of the
hosta links that I know of.

HostaMania
Since 1999 I've been
developing my own computer application to manage all my Hosta
information. It is called HostaMania. It's written in Visual Basic and
uses an Access database. Some of it's information is available
online using MySQL and PHP.
