Herman's Personal Flag

Like many Vexilollogists, I have my personal flag.

This flag is like it is for the following reasons :

• 4 by 6 blocks refers to the flags of the Provinces of Brabant and Antwerpen.
  My mother's name is Brabant (no relation to the province but rather to a commune somewhere in France), but I consider myself to be a Brabander (as opposed to those from accross the water - Flemings)
• The colours are those of :
  • Wilrijk (where I was born and live), part of Antwerp : blue and yellow
  • Antwerpen : red and white
  • Flanders : yellow and black
  • Wallonia (De Wael means the Walloon, and my paternal grandmother comes from a family from Liege) yellow and red
  • Belgium : black, yellow, red
  • Europe : blue and yellow
  • France (for my maternal grandfather) : red, white, blue
  • Luxembourg (for my maternal grandmother) : blue, white, red
  • and even Germany (great-grandfather) and Monaco (where my grandmother was born)
