Member of the "oarsome foursome" that won gold in 1992 and 1996, together with Nicholas Green and James Tomkins. In Sydney the two remaining members of the crew raced in separate boats, and both avoided Steven Redgrave who had chosen their category to win his fifth consecutive gold medal in.
