Arsen Fadzaev

Born in Ordzhonikidze (now Vladikavkaz) North Ossetia, Russian Federation, but competed for Uzbekistan in 1996

In 1988 he competed for the Soviet Union, and in 1992 for the Unified team, under Russian flag.
In 1996, he lost in the Russian trials to Vadim Bogiev, the eventual gold medallist. He then remembered his Uzbek roots (he had began competing in Tashkent) and qualified for Atlanta as a representative for Uzbekistan. He lost again to Bogiev.
