A man who has made Olympic history in several ways :
Winning five medals in one event between 1906 and 1924 is not bad.
He is the only person after 1896, who has won medals in two different sports at the same Olympics (Antwerpen).
And he was the architect of the Olympic stadium (and the Ice rink) at that same Olympics !

The highboard gold at Amsterdam was originally awarded to Egyptian Farid Simaika, who had the most points. The competition was based on number of judges awarding first place however,  and the Egyptian only got silver.
In the 1924 springboard, he was the first diver ever to receive a perfect 10 score.

The hurdles specialist managed to win the flat title twice, but was twice unlucky in the hurdles final, for which she was twice the favourite. Again the favourite in Sydney, she not even made it to the final, pulling up halfway through the semi-final with an injury.
