Season 1989: England - Australia (3).During their Tour in England, Australia also played two matches each in and against the Netherlands and in Denmark, and one in Scotland. An England XI (including top players) also played two matches in the Netherlands.

For the Global ratings, the correction is the average of the differences between the ratings for Zimbabwe, Netherlands and Denmark in both tables, with small corrections for 4 other countries (Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Canada and Fiji), that is -133.5.

Associate Members in Europe

The Netherlands lost to Denmark. Italy played their first international match, losing by 409 runs (in 40 overs) to Denmark. Germany also played two matches against Denmark.

The ECF (European Cricket Federation) is formed in 1989, with Italy, Switzerland, France and Germany among its founding members.
