ODI Team Ratings for the "A-list" Teams

The "A-list" is to one-day matches what "first class" is to multi-day cricket. The top national competitions in the full member nations get this accolade.

In addition, a number of "international" encounters have received this character. There are three kinds of international matches that are given "A-list"-status:

1. the Commonwealth Games

the matches at the Commonwealth Games in 1998 (the only time cricket featured in those games) were not given ODI status, but listed on the A-list.

India and Pakistan competed with second-string teams (the main teams were facing each other at the same time).

Since 2000 a number of tournaments have been given "A-list" status:

• The ICC Emerging Nations tournament of April 2000 (Kenya, Zimbabwe A, Netherlands, Scotland, Ireland, Denmark)
• The ICC Six-nations in April 2002 (Sri Lanka A, Zimbabwe A, Kenya, Netherlands, Namibia, Canada)
• The ICC Six-nations challenge of March 2004 (USA, Scotland, Namibia, Netherlands, UAE and Canada)
• The ICC Trophy of 2005 (12 teams)
• The ICC WCL Division two of 2007 (UAE, Oman, Namibia, Denmark, Uganda, Argentina)
• The WCQ of 2009
• UAE in Namibia (December 2009)
• Uganda in UAE (January 2010)
• Bermuda in Nambia (April 2010)
• UAE in Bermuda (July 2010)
• Uganda in Namibia (Sepember 2010)

These are:

1. The very first international one-day match: South Africa v Australia in 1967
2. Some matches by Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe before they achieved full membership
3. An occasional match between international sides, not of full nature
4. matches in the Australian home series when an Australia A side were involved

All these matches are included in the rankings prepared for the West Indian sides (see below)
