The Commandos Museum recalls and illustrates the history of the Belgian Commandos since their foundation in 1942 until today.
It is located at Sous-Lieutenant THIBAUT barracks, rue Joseph Durieux in Flawinne.
Individual or group access to the Museum is free, all-year round upon appointment by contacting the 2nd Commando Bataillon the day before, or at the latest on Thursday for visits on Saturday or Sunday :

The park of Flawinne's castle (also known as castle David).
The gardens of the castle of Flawinne, chaussée de Nivelles, were arranged by 1710, just after the castle completion. They are staged in successive terraces at the south-east of the masonries, dating from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. The garden, beginning 18th century, spreads out over 2 hectares.
Five terraces are connected between them by staircases. The highest terrace, equipped with a small pavilion, was recently redrawn and replanted with hornbeams bordering the alleys and with shrubs decorating the flower beds. The intermediate terrace leads to the 51 ares main terrace, the most spacious. Downwards lays the kitchen garden and, on the side, grazing grounds and orchards. A new ornament garden was drawn in the southern court of the castle, totally enclosed by walls. Around an ornemental water part, rare flowers, herbs and shrubs open out in regular floors, enclosed by low hedges or rested against hedgerows.
The park is opened to the public only during the Journées du Patrimoine (Inheritance Days) in September.

The Standard Flawinne Football Club organizes every year a youth soccer tournament during the Ascension week-end.
