|The Mystery Plant Identified!!!
It took more than two years, but finally Wim Trio from Torhout, Belgium has been able to put the finger on it. He reportedly found several of these plant in Bretagne, France where they grew in gardens. I wasn't too far off, identifying it as an Echium, was I?
Amongst others, here are some websites where you can view pictures of this plant:
www.turnpike.fsbusiness.co.uk/ and www.architecturalplants.com
My plant is still alive, but hasn't grown much since I ripped it out of the soil last autumn and kept it in the greenhouse. Shall I try to leave it outside throught the winter?
