TCB Suits
Elvis knew how to put on a show, how to excite people. The colorful stage outfits he wore, were marvels of craftsmanship. But nobody seemed to pay much attention to the suits of the TCB Band. Yet, those outfits too, were an important part of the show. At the beginning of each tour, the band would take up to seven different suits with them. It was Joe Esposito who decided which suits they would wear, depending on the jumpsuit Elvis had chosen for himself. Blue TCB-suits don’t match with a blue jumpsuit, for instance. In total, the band members wore close to 30 different suits. They were always hand made, in some cases by employees of Bill Belew’s clothing factory. This is a selection of the TCB-suits from John Wilkinson’s personal collection.
