Ashtanga Yoga

The system of Ashtanga Yoga has been passed down in a traditional manner from teacher (guru) to pupil over many years, with the recent lineage being traced through Rama Mohan Brahmachari, Sri T. Krishnamacharya, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, and R. Sharath. The practice follows a set sequential order of asanas which when followed assiduously along with the harmonisation of breath and movement, engagement of internal energy locks, and correct gazing points; allows the practitioner to cultivate a deeper inner consciousness.  The benefits of a regular practice instils balance, internal strength, flexibility and focus as well as a deeper awareness of ourselves on many different levels. Ashtanga Yoga Brussels

Ashtanga Yoga Brussels aims to maintain the integrity of this form of yoga and pass it on in the way that it is still taught in India today: Mysore style classes. In this manner, each student works through the sequence at their own pace. The classes are suitable for all levels, as each student gets individual help from the teacher as and when needed. All classes take place at rue vandenbranden, 7, 1000 Brussels.

Anne Pinette was authorised by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in 2004 to teach Ashtanga yoga. In 2010 she completed training for Authorisation Level II in Mysore, India with R. Sharath Jois (grandson of the late Sri K. Pattabhi Jois).  She holds a BA (Hons) degree in French & European Studies and teaches in either English or French. She was introduced to this system of yoga in London in 1995 and since 1999 has travelled to India on an annual basis to deepen her knowledge and awareness of this yoga system. The value she places on her continuing studies with her teachers and her own daily practice are evident in her own teaching.
