* Important Note: Roger McGuinn sings one verse and plays
electric 12-string on the title song, "Summer in Paradise." HOWEVER, he is
NOT present on early versions of the album, and may not be present on any
of the American copies. Here's an excerpt by Paul Ashwell from "Full
Circle" magazine:
"The album first came out in 1992 on
the Brother Entertainment label (BBR 727-2). the original release came
as a foldout Eco-pak but it did not feature Roger. The album has since
been remixed and re-released on EMI (0777 7 81036 22) in the UK and the
CD is now presented in a standard plastic jewel case. Produced by Terry
Melcher, Roger sings a verse andplays twelve-string on the title
track. "There is also promo CD release (Brother
Entertainment PRO CD4) which contains two versions of the song, the EMI
version and a 'live' version recorded 29 June 1993 at Wembley Arena on
which Roger's contribution is overdubbed."
(see image hereunder)

However, as "Full Circle" additionally noted, the story
doesn't end there:
"Personal checks around the record stores have revealed
that EMI have imported copies of the original US Eco-Pak and have
affixed a sticker with the UK catalogue number onto the packaging.
Additionally, the liner notes to the jewel-cased versions are merely
reprints with no mention of either remixing or Roger's participation...
Listening to the track concerned would seem the only way to make sure of
what you're getting."

Original Release Date: August 2007 (Double DVD
from the UK)

The Byrds
Under Review is a documentary film, which explores in detail the music,
career and background of arguably America’s most influential band.
Inventors
of folk-rock and country-rock, and with a sizeable investment in what
became garage-rock (and ultimately Punk), The Byrds could barely write a
song without creating a new genre.
With the
aid of many who were there at the time, as either part of the group or
close at hand, this 2 DVD set is a celebration of one of Rock N’ Roll’s
truly great bands.

classic performances re-assessed by our panel of experts

and interviews from then and now
Exclusive
and extensive contributions from Byrds members John York and Gene Parsons,

DeCurtis; legendary music historian and author of Eight Miles High:
Folk-Rock’s Flight from Haight-Ashbury to Woodstock, Richie Unterberger
and British music journalist and author Nigel Williamson
Seldom
seen footage of pre-Byrds collectives
Live and
studio recordings of Byrds classics such as ‘Mr. Tambourine Man’,‘I’ll
Feel A Whole Lot Better’, ‘Eight Miles High’, ‘Mr Spaceman’, ‘So You Want
To Be A Rock N’ Roll Star’, ‘Hickory Wind’, ‘Chestnut Mare’ and many
