2000 season

The 2000 season will not be well remembered by most players. The 1st XI was relegated from Section Two after losing all their league games, except the last. the fact that the last match of the season was won against Laurelvale (who we had never beaten at 1st XI level) is testament to the spirit in the side which somehow survived the season. Captain Johnnie Irons again bowled well without much success. Despite some occasional good performances from Brian Boyd, Nigel Palmer and newcomer Lee Thompson, we were often a bowler short. The batting too suffered with only a couple of players managing a big score - Michael Greenlees hit 95 in the opener at Queens and Ian Moffett scored a couple of well-compiled fifties.

The 2nd XI and 3rd XIs enjoyed more success and both finished in mid-table.
