13/08/'05 It's been a while since the last update. Lets start by posing you a question: If you happen to have some quality pictures of Garmenhord that you think would fit nice in our galleries, don't hesitate to get in touch. We're always seeing tons of people taking pics of us on stage, and we're dying to know if there might be some good ones between them. We're trying to make a compilation of our best pics, so any help with extra pics would be greatly appreciated!
Let me conclude this update by replying on the many gossips circling round about Garmenhord at the moment, that we may have split or even lost a few members. No we haven't broken up, and nobody left the band. We are simply taking a lenghty rest for now, with no rehearsals, no songwriting and definitely no shows for a while. We'll lift up our lazy asses when we feel we are up for it again, so don't panic just yet! You haven't heard the last of us...

21/03/'05 The new Iconoclasm cd is only seconds away from the Lugburz Productions pressing plant, and a new release is already imminent. This time it's the third of Lugburz compilations, once again out on Lugburz Productions. There will be an exclusive Garmenhord song on this compilation, entitled "Guur op den buyten". Due to be released 13 May 2005, with the bonus of a releaseparty in Kompas St. Niklaas, this better be in everyone's agenda. See you guys there !
20/02/'05 HMF3 was another tremendous achievement. Good bands, excellent organisation & good sound. We had a great time, hope you did as well.
14/02/'05 HMF3 is almost there, saturday 19/2 in lokeren to be more precise. And with Kampfar, Nydvind, Garmenhord, Grimm & Walpurgisnacht there's plenty for everyone. Let me assure you that this last edition will be a total blast. Pre-sales sky rocketed this week, so expect tons of people around. Our merchandise will be available through the Lugburz distro that will be present, for those who still want to invest in our lousy releases. As for our set, it will not be the longest but there's plenty of variation in it, and of course the usual visual surprises. See you in Lokeren all you heathens !
29/01/'05 Aside from the fact that our guitar player Psycho nearly got himself killed in a car accident, there isn't much news this week. No idea if he 'll be able to play at HMF3, we'll keep our fingers crossed. Other than that, we're still thinking of ways to make HMF3 worth your while. Remember, if you wanna see us live this year, 19/2 will be your only chance as we decided not to play live anymore in 2005.

20/11/'04 Next week, 27 november, we'll play at JH De Auwel in Vorst Laakdal, together with Natrach and Walpurgisnacht. We just finished a new song called "Den gheesel der Gheteyden", which we'll give a first try there.

26/09/'04 Our cd release gig is getting close, so time for some final info to draw you over the line to come and witness. It all takes place at the famous Leer Boddn, en Pinn fest, saturday the 2nd of october in Ingelmunster. No idea when it all starts, I guess around 7pm or so? Bands playing are us, Grimm and W&D. We will finally have the new split cd for sale, as well as new shirts. Lugburz will be present with their distro. We will play our longest set ever, so we'll spice it up with plenty of juicy stuff to make your time worthwhile. See you there!

09/09/'04 New shirts are on the way. I'll post the design one of these days. They should be there by our release show. Talking of which... there is a problem with our show in Arnhem Holland. Plaegh can't get a day off that friday, so we're not gonna make it. Unless we find someone who can replace him that day but that's an unlikely chance. Either way the rest of us will go to Arnhem to watch the other bands, we'll take new cd's and shirts if that's any comfort at all. The show in Ingelmunster the day after will continue as planned, don't worry...

16/08/'04 This weekend we played at Kleudde Backyard fest, and we hope you had as much a great time as we did. We are satisfied about everything, congratulations to the organizers for the excellent reception! The show was good fun for us, and we hope the shower of Meetjeslander beer was refreshing enough. Pictures and perhaps a small video are on the way. Except for some tired muscles I endured my 20 kilos of steel, Kwelle's ears survived the loudness of the stage monitors, and Psycho seems to have recovered from his alcohol abuse once more. No time to rest though, cause in 2 weeks we play at the Meetjesland fest in Eeklo. Some of you asked why there was nowhere Garmenhord merchandise for sale. One simple reason: everything is sold out. We will be printing new shirts soon, and we' ll also make some new copies of our old cd demo. Other people asked when the new split cd will be ready. It will be officially for sale on the first weekend of October. First the first of October in Arnhem Holland, where we will play with Heidevolk, Grimm, W&D and XIV Dark Centuries. The next day in Ingelmunster at yet another edition of the Leer Bottn & Pinn fest. The Lugburz distro will be present to make sure everyone gets his copy. See you soon!
13/08/'04 Friday the 13th, time for an update... Our new split cd finally came in from the press factory this week. No idea when it' ll be for sale, as the ball is mostly in Lugburz's camp, but we hope as soon as possible. What else? Well be playing at Kleudde fest tomorrow so hopefully you' ll show up. There are also new shirts on the way, and probably more stuff such as pins and patches. Yeah! Oh, and you' ll find a new lyric online too.
01/08/'04 After well spent holidays we are rehearsing like crazy for the upcoming shows. One new song is finished, and will be played for the first time at Kleudde fest. Our cd release is also rapidly approaching. Busy weeks ahead!

Too many people keep asking us if they can still get a copy, but the demo is long sold out. So here it is, and even though we play quite different stuff today, take it for what it's worth. Enjoy!

25/06/'04 Today Garmenhord was struck by terrible desaster! While hunting local livestock Kwelle got hit by Plaegh's "infernal arrow of demoncy and neverending oblivion +3", only to realize he lost half of his braincapacity after surgery in Fenrir's cartrunk. (The other half of his brain appeared to be rotten to the core as well, probably by too much abuse of pilsners). You can witness the terrible look on the faces of both Plaegh and Fenrir, as they tried to pull the beblooded arrow out. Luckily I myself kept my cool to assure our readers of world exclusive photo material. Kwelle will survive, and we swore our grandmothers to be more careful on the next hunt, so that next time we will kill him instantly instead of half work as was the case now. 22/06/'04 This weekend we played an exclusive show as "wedding singers" at Billy T.'s weddingfest. Not the usual show, so it seemed, as I was on vacation and therefor vocals were done by all sorts of dubious characters such as Grimgaert of W&D and Haat from Zwaardbroeder. Bare asscheeks aside, I'm sure it was a good practice for that other upcoming wedding party ;-)
07/06/'04 Time for another gig: the Meetjesland Metalfest. Taking place in Eeklo, the heart of Meetjesland, this just would not be the same without proper Meetjeslanders like us. More details on our concerts page.
03/05/'04 OK, let's spit it out ! Our upcoming split cd with W&D will be released by a brand new label named “Lugburz Productions”, in cooperation with “Heydensch Meetael”. (the driving force behind the idea of the split record and of course the wellknown heathen festivals). The cd is scheduled for release in late September. The distribution will be in hands of the Lugburz team and of course the bands themselves. Lugburz were some of the first to show interest for our band years ago, and they helped us frequently by distributing our releases, shirts etc. so it's great to work with them again. They are without doubt THE reference when it comes to promoting Belgian underground. And with their many years of experience in running a great webdomain, as well as organizing concerts & a bringing their distro on prominent underground concerts, there is no doubt they will do a good job. Further more, I think there will be a release concert as well, but that one is still in the planning stages. You'll read all about it here as soon as we know more.

01/04/04 We can proudly announce that all our recordings are finished. But best of all, you can now listen to a sample of our new material by clicking right here! This is a fragment of "Den val van Raepenburgh", our opening song. All we need to do now is master the sound of the entire cd (when W&D is ready of course :p) and then we're talking business. Enjoy!

10/03/'04 Har har matey! About time for an update. Let's start by announcing that Garmenhord will not play at the Frontline gig on the 25 of april. We may be on the bill but I assure you we will not play that day. Don't worry, we have other gigs on the way but this far I have no details about 'em. Furthermore some info on our upcoming split release. We still haven't recorded the vocals, but that's about to happen next week. Of course that's not the end of it. The artwork is being finalized as we speak, but the covers still need to be printed and cd's need to be pressed, so I'm guessing the release won't be anytime soon. I can only apologize for the delays, and tell you nothing more then that it's done when it's done...

29/01/'04 Allright, time to spill some more info on our upcoming split cd with W&D. We have recorded 4 songs. “Den val van Raepenburgh”, “In ‘t heetst van den streyd”, “Meetjesland marcheert”, and last but not least an acoustic remake of “Al onder den beevenden haeselaere”. There’s also a good chance we’ll put a live video on the record, more specifically “Den val van Raepenburgh”, recorded live at Unie Van Atreght in Holland. So far we still need to record the vocals, add acoustics, and then mix the whole thing. It’ll be at least another month before the actual recordings are done, but we’re not rushing things. Before I forget, let me remind you that this Saturday we’re playing at Frontline Gent, with Aes Dana, Skyforger, Menhir and Trimonium. Be there around 8.30 pm. (yeah right)

04/01/2004 Drums, bass, & leadguitar are recorded now for the split cd, and all is going well. You'll find a brand new picture gallery with plenty of new photomaterial shot during our studio time. In between all this studiotime we're still trying to rehearse a bit for our upcoming gig in Gent. But we'll get there in the end... we always do.
31/12/'03 Last day of the year, and about time for a small update on our behalf. This week we're entering mixmaster Tony's studio again to record new material for our split cd with W&D. We're still not 100% sure what will end up on the cd, but so far I suppose there will be 5 songs, 2 of which will be recorded live on our last show in Holland. Expect a modest studio report later this week, until then we wish you all the best for the coming year.
12/12/'03 As you may have noticed, I moved our site to a new server (faster, cleaner & with MP3 support) because of the overload on banners & popups our old provider Brinkster was spitting. It' ll be one more click for you guys, unless you bookmark the new page of course. Anyway, we're rid off all that spam for good now, except for our opening page which still serves a purpose as URL forwarder. But enough technical pooha. For now the only Garmenhord news is that the show in Arnhem is delayed. We' 're also working on a brand new song, that should be strictly studio material, probably never to be played live. It' ll be an all out Meetjeslandt hymn, and that' s all I' m telling you for now.
06/12/'03 New recordings are nearing, more specifically for the upcoming split cd with W&D. We're still working on the songs, as usual 'till the last moment, but that's how it seems to work out best for us time and again. So far it seems that "Den val van Raepenburgh", a remake of our hymn "Al onder den beevenden haeselaere", en "In 't heetst van den streyd" will appear on this record, but we're also working on an all new epic Meetjeslandt hymn, that could find itself a way on that record if the songs gets completed in time. We' ll see. There 's also a big chance we will put a videoclip on that cd, one which was recorded at our last gig in Holland. What else? Well it seems there are new shows on the way. One will be in Frontline Gent, where we' ll open for Trimonium, Menhir and Skyforger. Another gig should be in Arnhem Holland, but no date is confirmed yet. As usual you' ll find all the necesary info on our concerts page.

Bands playing there include Trollech (CZ), Aes Dana (FR), Grimm (NL), Heidevolk (NL), Wapenspraak & Drinkgelag, and Boombaard (NL), and of course Garmenhord. Let's hope this final edition is every bit as great as the one earlier this year.
Furthermore, we play a show the next day as well at the "unie van Atrecht", on sunday 9 november. This will take place in Asten/ Heusden in Holland. Other bands performing there will be Boombaard, Grimm, W&D. Should start around 2pm. Place to be is Zaal Jonosh...
18/10/'03 Garmenhord, Consensus, and Iron Alfred will play saturday 25 october at JH Sjatoo, Kalken. The show starts around 10pm, so we will be playing pretty late. Entrance fee is 3 Euro. Due to circumstances our second guitar player Psycho can't perform there. However he will be replaced by his longtime friend Korneel who's more than happy to fulfill his role as session guitarplayer especially fot this gig. Cheers Korre !

17/08/2003 After weeks of sitting on our lazy butts we're finally getting somewhere again. Three new songs are nearing completion. One entitled "Den val van Raepenburgh", the other "Naer heynde en verre", and one "in 't heetst van den streyd". But these will not be the only new tunes, as we'll continue writing new ones the coming month, in order to play an almost completely new set on our upcoming gigs. (except for some oldtime favourites ofcourse *cough* den beevenden *rochel*)

25/05/2003 We' ve been busy rehearsing lately. So far two new songs are done, one so far remains nameless. Yesterday we spent an entire afternoon looking after some new material, only to end up in the definitive mix between Kampfar & country music. I suppose it' s our take on remaining one step ahead of the competition. So far it looks like all our upcoming songs will be different from each other again, as was the case with the songs on our cd.
03/05/2003 Our show on thursday at Dragons blaze festival was quite allright, even though we had some minor technical difficulties. Nevertheless we had a good time. Hope you did too. So what's up now? Well first of all we managed to get our favourite singalong "Al onder den beevenden" on a new compilation from Germany's "When the reaper comes". No clue when this will be out though. Furthermore Garmenhord will now take a break for a couple of months, to concentrate on new material as the urge to write new battle hymns is itching terribly. We think we' ll start playing shows again in autumn, one of which will certainly be Heydensch Meetael Feeste 2. One last thing: those who are interested in a T-shirt better hurry as we only have a couple left, and there will be no reprint. Price is still 10 euro, it's your call...
27/04/2003 First of all we want to thank everybody for being there. The show was an absolute blast with a rarely seen atmosphere, and it couldn't have happened without your suport. 05/03/2003 We found a worthy substitute for Kludde, who unfortunately couldn't play at Heydensch Meetael Feeste. Heidevolk will now appear in their place. The final bill is now Nydvind, Grimm, Garmenhord, Heidevolk, and Wapenspraak en Drinkgelag.

16/12/'02 Our saturday rehearsal was quite rewarding. We wrote our first new tune since Psycho joined us, and already we're reaping the rewards of being a quintet now. Dudes, this new song sure is bound to beat our alltime anthem "al onder den beevenden haeselaere"!
Furthermore we got various offers this week for shows around spring 2003. It's gonna be a busy period, our liver's be damned !07/12/'02 Today we had our first rehearsal with our new second guitarplayer Psycho. Yes, you heard it right. We've got a new face in the camp of Garmenhord. Psycho, previously known from his efforts as guitarplayer for Kwelhekse, now joined our ranks. This means we will have a far more impressive sound from now on, and it leaves more options to make the music a little more complex and balanced. We're now rehearsing our old material with him, and things work out fine. We 're planning a few shows even though those plans are still in their early days. Fenrir will organise a show somewhere in spring, probably in some local bar. We're also looking out for shows in Gent so if you plan on organising something, don't hesitate to contact us.

14/10/'02 What is new? Well we're in the process of writing new material now, and pretty soon we'll also have a brand new second guitar player. We'll leave his name in the middle for now. Singer Vraeck will take a rest for a few weeks due to a surgery, and Kwelle is still terrorizing his environnement with the false teeth he got on the Lugburz festival. 06/10/'02 Those who weren't at the 5th Lugburz fest made a mistake. And that's the least you can say because the fest was awesome! With a mixed line-up of promising Belgian bands, it's good organisation, and a great friendly atmosphere that is rarely seen on metal shows, you can be sure this fest will stay in many peoples mind for a long time to come. As for garmenhord, we played a solid set that once again managed to surprise quite a lot of people. You haven' t heard the last of us, that much I can tell you!
