We seek to respond to them by promoting
justice, living and working among the poor, the marginalised,
those excluded from our societies. No sisters act in isolation but in the name
of the Congregation/community.
It's our comunities that have the mission of being
"a presence" among the most diverse populations in the world.
At present we number 4711 sisters, 608 contemplative
sisters and 4084 sisters serving directly in the apostolate. All of us
share the same mission, namely to promote justice, witness to mercy and
thus manifest the tenderness of God.
Approximately 2000 lay persons, men and women are Associates of the Good
Shepherd and share in the same spirit.
We live in 673 communities spread throughout 67 countries.
