A saloon that doesn't have anything to envy to the most famous westerns, stables where riders can choose and rent their horse, a hotel for 20 people, the prospector's office, sheriff's office, gambler's, the Wells Fargo, the Western City Bank, the trading post, blacksmith... In the summer, indian teepees and life- like cow-boys and cow-girls.
That's what Western City is Things started 40 years ago, in 1962, in a really beautiful place, somewhere called " La Lemmetrie",between the church of Chèvremont and the ruins of the Fort of Chaudfontaine. . This is the extraordinary story of the birth of the" Real Village" called "Western-City" This sign, a old hearse, a non-drinkable water pond and a lot of "WANTED" signs will soon welcome you in Texas... in Chaudfontaine. Between the Chèvremont basilica and the ruins of of the old fort, Alexis Luthers "a old colonial, accepted his son's desire...to live among cow-boys. Richard Luthers is 19 when he comes back from Africa. His father gave him his first horse. During two months, they covered 3000 km in the Belgian Ardennes to find the ideal spot where to build a "Ranch" They found it in Chaudfontaine! The site was so suitable, that, with the support of Charles Labalue and of the Tourist Center, the old colonials decided to recreate a whole Western Village. You'll find the sheriff's house, a club, the stables, a store, a saddle room, and the Blacksmith's. Everything will be built in wood. The job is in progress and the sheriff's house is going to be finished soon. The official opening should take place in August. Strangers, beware! this is the end of civilisation. You are in Western-City One Saturday in 1962, Mr and Mrs Luthers opened "Western-City" For that occasion, they organised a big party where we met the Mayor of Chaudfontaine, Mr Grisard de la Rochette, together with his two deputy burgomasters (members of the city council) and some members of the tourist center. "Western-City" a cow-boy town next to Liege. This is a wonderful initiative from the Mr Luthers, who built this great Ranch, with his own hands, to make his wife and son's dream come true. All this in the savage and hilly landscape of the Lemmetrie" next to Chèvremont. It's the only setting of the kind, and Mr Grisard de la Rochette insists on the innovating aspect of it and also on the tourist attraction it offers for Chaudfontaine. Mr Charles labalue, the sympathetic tourist center secretary already plans to bring visiting groups from Chaudfontaine to there. People from Liege and Brussels come here to horse-ride cow-boy style, and to get away from the hectic city lifestyle. The opening ended with a typically western show.

They had been regulars for years and they got hooked by the Western spirit and atmosphere.
They renovated the Ranch, building stalls, stables, a terrace, an outdoor path, a theatre stage, a store...
The hotel can accommodate the riders, they can get a light meal and visit our country shop.
But " Calamity Jane"
"Alias Nicole" is full of plans to make Western-City a "Must"
in the field of leisure.
A new team of westerners animate this little far-west spot with passion and talent. Every Sunday, between June and the end of September, they immerse the public in this very particular and typical atmosphere.
There is nothing like a family day spent there to make the most of its charm and attractions..You can make a walk or a hike or have a riding course.
You can also organise parties ( wedding, communion, anniversaries, BBQ.......)
