British:
The M1905 Service Dress "stiff" cap:
This was the general headgear of 1914. Used by all regiments, except Scottish.
The Gor Blimey or the M1915 winter cap:
Introduced in the Gallipoli campaign. A soft cap with earflaps against the cold.
The SD soft cap (1916):
The Wolseley model sun helmet (sun helmet):
Very common at the eastern campaign, Gallipoli, Palestine,...
But also used at the Western front!
Scottish:
The Glengarry, 1914 :
Used by Scottish regiments instead of the SD cap.
The colour of the dices depends the regiment.
The diced Balmoral 1915:
The Tam 'O Shanter(1916):
The badge has a tartan backing. With kilted regiments the backing has the same pattern as the kilt.
