FAQ about living history /re-enacting WW1
Why is this needed?
Soon there will be no more veterans, only books and a little bit of film footage.
We can give a living image and share a our experiences. A little bit of the experience the veterans had will survive that way.
What is your aim?
- Remebering the people who lived and died in WW1.
- Studying the life of a WW1 soldier/ nurse.
- Trying to understand the situation of the soldier/ nurse in WW1.
- Giving the people a living image of that time.
- we want to educate the young ones.
- We want to remember them, as they were, or not were...
- Wearing the same uniform and equipment helps you to know its functionality or the proper use of it.
- We study daily live, regimental live, rules, drill, etc. and try to explan it to the people who are interested.
- We feel closer with them wearing the uniform.
-.... several little personalised reasons...
What do you do to accomplish that?
- We help people with remembrance services.
- We represent WW1 on multi period events.
- We organise workshops.
- We organise our own little events / acts of remembrance.

Is this a way to be noticed? Stand in the spotlight?
It is a way to remember WW1. It is NOT a way to find sensation or to be noticed.
WW1 and the fallen are the important ones, not us.
Are you playing soldiers?
No, we are portrating soldiers of WW1. We want to give an impression of how a ww1 soldier looked like and how he lived in the trenches, in safe zones.
Ofcourse we only can show limited things. We will never be able to show the truth. Let's say we can show the people 1/5 of reallity.
Do you like war?
Not at all. We are all pacifist who like to show people how life was during wartime. We hope to teach people to do it no more.
No one of us should like to live in WW1.
