DS2 SETI Project

Under impulse and leadership of DS2 Chief of Sciences Wim Keuleers, DS2 crew members have joined the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) Project. Thousands of people have joined this project, as an individual or as a group. DS2 has joined the SETI Project as a group.

SETI@home is a scientific experiment that harnesses the power of hundreds of thousands of Internet-connected computers in the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI). You can participate by running a program that downloads and analyzes radio telescope data. There's a small but captivating possibility that your computer will detect the faint murmur of a civilization beyond Earth. For more information please visit the SETI@HOME website.

From December 15, 2005 the original (classic/old) SETI@home projects will be stopped. If you want to continue with "your" SETI@home project, you have to switch to the "BOINC-way". So the following results of the DS2 classic SETI@home are the final results of our efforts in the search for intelligent alien life throught the classic SETI@home project. Some of us had already switched to BOINC but from December 15, 2005 we will all switch to BOINC. The BOINC results will of course be continued to be published in the DS2 Newsflash.

These are the final results of the DS2 Classic Seti@home:
Total number of handled Seti Packages is 5520 for the DS2 Seti Team up to 3 computers which used 7.899 years of CPU time.
