Since civilisation began there was always a sort of evolution in the generations. To put it easy... previous generations always have to make sacrifices for the future. A future that they can not always harvest the benefits from.
Lets take the occupants from fort Duffel for example. They all fought a courageus battle and some of them died. The fact that they lost their battle does'n mean that they where cowards. They did'n recieve a hero's welcome thoug. But it is because of their battle that we have freedom and peace now.
Or let's talk about a worker in a cockes plant. Hasardous temperatures and chemicals. 24 h a day work. And now the plants get closed not because they did not do a good job. But times they are changing. They gave the best of theirself for many years and now enviromentalists, economists and a new generation of children spit upon them. Let it be clear that there would'nt be a "new economy" without an "old economy".
That is why this page was created. It is some sort of "pat on the back" to the occupants. Althoug most of them will never see it, it has the same effect as a statue in the streets. The heroes are long death but not all forgotten. To me a worker or a loosing soldier has as good the right to get a statue. But i am not a sculpture. I am not even a real photographer.

To all you ex-occupants out there... Peace and prosperity forever!
