Triage lavoir means sorter/washer...
At this place coal from the nearby mines was thrated before it could be send out.
The building looks like it is made out of one mold and the concrete got poured in from top.
It continuisly reminded me of those drawings from Esher where the lower you walk, the higher you end.
While exploring the building, you often have to decent a floor or tree to find the correct mezzanine that gets you to
a higher floor
but once you find the central staircase you can access any floor. Feels like a pc-game inside a 3d maze. Awesome!
The building lends itself perfectly to a beginnig BW photographer like me. This is due to the bland lines and the lack
of color in the concrete. It makes good BW photographs a lot easier to see.
No wonder this incredible structure is often used a background for fotoshoots
(including some with nekkid ladys :o) ). While present a
photographer came up to take pictures of two models showing the latest fashion (They weren't nude however. I don't
have THAT much luck. Duh!)
For all of you who want to explore the maze, take pictures or pose nude, to bad...
The Triage/lavoir is closed now for renovation. Thats right... I'm not sure what they are going to do
with it but at least this unique building is spared from the sledge-hammer.
Oh btw... I dropped my digital camera at the entering and it remained INOP for the rest of the exploration. So no
snapshots this time.
Of course i know more places where you can pose nude ladys... i'l be at your service at this e-mail adress :op
