Description

The water surrounding fort Duffel. In an arial photograph the trench would look somewhat diamond shaped

Things to pounder

• Such a peaceful sight... no wonder some of the fortresses where made into parks
  
• A big contrast to wartime where trees would be chopped and landmines would lay on the place where i'm standing
  
• Barbed wire and metal obstacels where droped into the water to prevent the enemy from swimming over
  
• This also prevented the soldiers to escape or ,like the attack of "Walem" fortress painfully learned, to do a sneak outbreak and sabotage the enemy
  
• Dredging into these waters would probably reveal stuff that would make the belgian army bomb squat nervous
