Wasn't Empreintes DIGITALes that electro acoustic label? It isn't than also surprising to read that Hans Tuschku studied electro-acoustic composition in Dresden (where he toured alongside Karlheinz Stockhausen) and on the royal conservatory in Then Hague. No he is already professor Electro-acoustics on the Liszt Conservatory in Weimar. It isn't been really clear for me a long time what the term 'electro-acoustics' really content. I've read something about it yet, but I didn't understand it well. But if I understand it well, it is a kind of composition made of environment recordings. The context and the experience linked with the recording are important for the definitive form for the composition. Hans Tutschku: "In 'Extrémités Lointaines' I use a wide variety of sounds resulting from travels through four countries, these countries, these connections remain very strong. The piece is structured in 15 sections describing different locations. The intensity of the impressions I experienced during the trip has resulted in a dense compositional structure". Hans Tutschku likes to use 'speech' in his composition as an instrument. So he says "Les invisibles is a composition based on vocal and instrumental sounds which create a soundscape corresponding to the text" or for 'Sieben Stufen': "All sounds are derived from electronic manipulation of two recordings of the poem spoken by four different voices (two in German and two in French)". The text is sometimes totally destroyed only the manipulation of the sound (of the voice) stays right up. Especially the piece 'extrémités lointaines' gets my attention. Maybe just because of the less prominent role of the voice. Also the second piece '…Erinnerung…' is one that I like much. Here we get a very dense even aggressive sound wherein the voice is used very expressive. The tree other songs are maybe a little bit to academic for me. Although it stays a very interesting and extreme sonic experience for my untrained ears. |

Het is dan ook niet verwonderlijk te lezen dat Hans Tutschku electro - akoestische compositie studeerden in Dreesden (waar hij Karlheinz Stockausen op enkele tours vergezelde) en aan het koninklijk concervatorium van Den Haag. Nu is hij reeds professor aan de Liszt Conservatory in Weimar. Het is me eigenlijk lange tijd niet duidelijk geweest wat 'electro akoestiek' nu eigenlijk inhoud. Veel over gelezen, weinig van begrepen. Maar als ik het nu goed begrepen heb is het een soort knipsel van omgevingsgeluiden, die op een bepaalde plaats worden opgenomen. De context en de ervaringen die met die opnamen gepaard gaan zijn belangrijk voor de latere vorm van de composities die er mee gemaakt worden. Zo zegt hij 'Les invisibles is a composition based on vocal and instrumental sounds which create a soundscape corresponding to the text' of voor 'Sieben Stufen' : « All sounds are derived from electronic manipulations of two recordings of the poem spoken by four different voices (two in German and two in French) ». De teksten worden daarbij vaak onherroepelijk verminkt, enkel het onderzoek van de klank (van de stem) blijft over. Vooral het eerste nummer 'extrémités lointaines' krijgt mijn voorkeur. Misschien wel omdat de stem hier niet zo een prominente rol krijgt, en omdat het stuk zeer intens en donker aandoet. Ook het tweede nummer . .. Erinnerung… vind ik meer dan de moeite waard. Hier krijgen we weer een zeer intens en ditmaal zelfs agressief geluid waarin de stem nogal expressief gebruikt wordt. De drie andere nummers komen mij wat te academisch over. Alhoewel het toch een interessant en extreem geluid's spektakel blijft voor mijn ongeoefende oortjes. |
