Emulator III
additional downloads |
You can
download the latest EIII and EIIIX operating systems here: -
Emulator III OS version 2.42: EIIIOS242.zip -
Emulator IIIX OS version 2.10: EIIIXOS210.zip Once unzipped,
these are 800K DS-DD floppy disk images which can be copied to a floppy disk
using OmniFlop (see links section). In OmniFlop you will have to select the
Emax 10*512 diskformat, which is 100% compatible with the EIII/EIIIX. If you don’t
have a Windows XP/Vista PC, you can also use CopyQM for DOS with following
files: -
Emulator III OS version 2.42: EIIIOS242_CopyQM.zip -
Emulator IIIX OS version 2.10: EIIIXOS210_CopyQM.zip CopyQM can also
be used with Windows 3.x and Windows 9x. |

Emulator II additional downloads |
Some Emulator
II Operating System files for use with EMXP can be downloaded here: To download
Emulator II bootable disk images (OS Overlay files) for use with the HxC,
please click here: Using the HxC in the
Emulator I and Emulator II An Emulator II
Memory Test disk image can be downloaded here: Emulator
II ZM325 Memory Test Disk File The Memory Test
file must be converted directly into a HxC file – it’s a bootable disk image
which will instantly start the memory test procedure at boot time in the
Emulator II. Disclaimer: Using these operating system files and
memory test disk file is at own risk (although the files are based on
properly working Emulator-II floppy disks). Emu did not approve any of these files. Emu nor myself have any responsibility
nor accountability for any possible damage caused by or presumably caused by
using these files. If you don’t agree with this statement,
don’t use the files. Information
about the Emulator II disk structure can be found in following document: More
information can be found on the SoftPres
website. The SoftPres team has successfully reverse engineered the EII
floppy disk layout based on capturing the flux transitions of an actual EII
disk and disassembling the Z80 code of the EII Debug ROM. |

Emax additional
downloads |
You can
download some “tweaked” Emax Operating System files here. These OS files are
almost the same as the original ones, but they have been slightly changed to
make them compatible with the “Bank Load/Unload” feature of Sound Designer
for Emax 1.12. -
Emax SE 1.1 upgraded to rev 4.0: EmaxSE11_sd40.zip -
Emax SE HD 1.1 upgraded to rev 4.0: EmaxSEHD11_sd40.zip -
Emax Plus 1.0 upgraded rev 4.0: EmaxPlus10_sd40.zip (all of these
operating systems will show “rev Disclaimer: Using these operating systems is at own
risk (although the tweak is considered to be quite innocent). Emu did not approve any of the applied
changes/tweaks. Emu nor myself have any responsibility
nor accountability for any possible damage caused by or presumably caused by
using these tweaked versions of the Emax OS. If you don’t agree with this statement,
don’t use the files. Why do you need
this special version of the Emax OS ? The only version of Digidesign’s Sound
Designer for Emax which is currently known in the Emax user community is
version 1.12. This software package supports full bank transfer between Sound
Designer and the Emax-I (not Emax-II !), but this feature requires revision
level 4.0 or higher from the Emax Operating System. Emu never released an OS
with this revision number. However the 1.1 version of the SE OS and the 1.0
version of the Plus OS do support the bank transfer protocol. So by tweaking
the revision number within the available operating system files, it is
possible to activate the bank transfer option between Sound Designer for Emax
and the Emax. |
